Trailer at the Park

By now you know that I am grateful for every art event that I am selected to participate in…and being a part of ‘Cycle 3’ for the Centre-fuge Public Art Project was an inspirational event that gave me the opportunity from the departure of my usual portraitures.

This art project, an idea born from Pebbles Russell and Jonathan Neville, began with love for their community and the arts…plus a cold grey trailer. Each 2 month cycle, a different set of artists transform this large container into a street gallery.

I am always amazed at the beauty that ensues from such street art projects and the difference people make when they bring their ideas out into the light.

The original Paradise Lost

My contribution to this event is a scene representing the great flood that submerged the Garden of Eden. The Family Table people are playing the roles. Adam(=man) who is surfing the waves on a Sharpie black marker. Eve(=life) is lounging on what is left of Eden before it is totally submerged, as the Creator sits on his throne manipulating the climactic changes in nature. The original is slightly different than the finished product. As any artist, when met with obstacles (or in my case, window grates), you create your own way around them.

This is my version of ‘Paradise Lost’. | Cycle 3 will be up until July 12th at 1st Ave and 1st Street in the LES.
